When in Naples Stoke Newington…

Dog friendly restaurant review: Vicoli Di Napoli

If good things come in small packages, Vicoli Di Napoli didn’t get the memo…

The pizza at this dog friendly restaurant is so big, the crust hangs over the edge of the plate. You’ll still finish it though. It tastes that good.

Environment

Although the venue is quite small, it’s pretty hard to miss. Just look out for the bright blue restaurant on Stoke Newington’s Church Street. Rectory Road is the nearest station, or you can hop on the 73 or 476, which both stop just down the road. If you’re driving, look for residential parking nearby, but watch out for the bus gate enforcement between 7am and 7pm.

Once you head inside, you’ll see the huge stone oven firing up traditional Neapolitan pizzas at the back of the restaurant. With small marble-style tables, clean white walls and simple wooden chairs, Vicoli has a light, fresh feel. Touches of exposed brick and the fire from the pizza oven add some rustic warmth. Grab a window seat, head further inside or walk up the small set of steps and past the pizza oven to reach the outdoor courtyard.

Price

The pizzas here range from £8.50 to £15.95 and they always have one or two specials on the board too. Every pizza is made in a traditional way using the freshest ingredients, with multiple vegan and vegetarian options on offer, alongside a few ‘white’ pizzas for anyone who wants to skip the tomato.

Taste

The menu includes classics like the Marinara and the Margherita, as well as the Provola e Pepe with smoked mozzarella and black pepper and the Diavola with spicy salami. If you have any room afterwards – possible, but unlikely – nab the Nutella pizza with a side of Meloncello.

Service

But enough about pizza. What about the pups? Vicoli Di Napoli is super dog friendly. The restaurant allows dogs inside and outside. Our pup even sits on the bench next to us, so he can look out the window. The staff are always happy to accommodate, so your pup should have all the space they need to relax – when they’re not staring at you eat.

So, what’s the PETS (Price, Environment, Taste and Service) rating for Vicoli Di Napoli?

  • Price: 4/5
  • Environment: 4/5
  • Taste: 4.3/5
  • Service: 4.3/5

Overall, this dog friendly restaurant scores a solid 4.2 out of 5. In my opinion, it’s one of the best pizza restaurants in London.

In other words, you ‘knead’ a ‘slice’ of this action and pronto.
